Using Tasks in a Workflow

For a workflow to perform a function or complete an activity, it requires appropriate tasks running within it. Tasks form the core of a workflow. They are the actual sets of instructions that complete an action.

Follow these steps to add a task to a workflow:

  • On the Workflows page, click the Edit icon of a workflow in which you want to add a task or click Create a Workflow. The

  • On the Editing Workflow page, on the Task Tree tab, click the Add icon.

  • Select the appropriate task type from the list and click Add.

  • On the Create Task page, configure the task as required and then click Save.

Note: You can create child tasks for the following task types:

  • Meta task
  • Decision task
  • Loop task
  • Parallel task

To create a child task, once you save the parent task, the Add icon displays for the task on the Editing Workflows page. Click this icon to add a child task.
